This is the page which I have uploaded all my PO9 TEEN newspaper making work. For this project I had to make layouts and logos which I used Adobe Illustrator CS6 to make. The paper was going to go along side an actual newspaper but be for teens just like the name. We was in groups of 3 and had to join to make the mini newspaper, we all had to make logos and layouts and then chose the best one.
The first part of making the newspaper was to chose a group company name, we couldn't decide on one between us so used the internet for help. We used a website to find a company name and came up with Tiger Commando Squad. Although it sounds stupid we thought it would be good because its funny and memorable and suits our target age group.

The first stage to logo making was to pick a suitable text, I tired out several but in the end went for Ariel in italics. I thought this would be a good choice because its simple yet looks good. The next step was to pick a colour scheme. I went for black and orange because they are the colours of tigers which was apart of the company name. I then experimented with different forms of logos and got a cartoon picture from the internet to make of a tiger. I played around with this and came up with different ideas.
I had to choose a design which i created and experiment with it to find a better solution. With this one I gave the text a back shadow and changed the colour to white. I then had the idea of making the orange block to be tiger print with the white Ariel italic text. However the tiger print didn't look good as it was cartoon and looked tacky. I then thought about the picture of the tiger and then tiger print text. The idea was good because it was creative and different.
The image of the tiger wasn't mine because I got it off the internet and couldn't use it. So I made my own tiger while following the image from the internet. The tiger in this picture is the one I made and can see a difference from the one above. I kept with the italic ariel but just made the leading letters orange and made the word 'Tiger' bigger and above the others.
Page Layout
These are my page layouts for my newspaper. I have a home page which is purple, lifestyle is yellow, news is red, sports is green and travel is blue. I made them different colours because I wanted my magazine to be colour and bold. The pages are different colours so that it would be easy to navigate through my magazine and my audience will be able to find things easy. I didn't make any quick designs first because I didn't have enough time and had to go straight into the proper design.
